At around 11AM on Saturday, February 16th a van was traveling westbound on W. Lafayette Ave. in west Baltimore. As it crossed McCullough St. the driver lost control of the vehicle, skidding sideways and landing on top of a parked pick-up truck.
Truck 10 and Ambulance 27 were dispatched to the scene. Truck 10 arrived and found the van balanced precariously on top of the bed of the truck. The crews ascertained that the driver was not seriously hurt or trapped. But the way it was sitting up in the air on two wheels they decided to call for Rescue 1 to stabilize the vehicle to get the victim out. When Rescue 1 arrived crews stabilized the vehicle and proceeded to pop the door and remove the patient. He was removed in about 10 minutes and transported to the hospital for a check-up. Baltimore Police were on the scene investigating the accident.
