On September 22, 2011 a 37 year old pregnant mother and her two sons were killed in a rowhouse fire that involved 11 other homes. The two boys were aged 7 and 12.
Fire Box 14-6 was transmitted at 1:28 AM for a reported dwelling fire with people trapped in the 600 block S, Pulaski Street in southwest Baltimore. When the first companies arrived on the scene they found 629 S. Pulaski fully involved along with the houses on both sides and fire extending under the common porches in both directions toward the ends of the block. A working fire was declared and a second alarm was struck out within six minutes. Firefighters made an attempt to enter but the fire was too intense to enter and conduct a search for victims.. Due to the extensive extension a third alarm was requested at 1:56.
Once again due to the rotating closures the closest truck company, Truck 23, was closed for 24 hours. This would be the second time a fatal fire occurred in Truck 23’s first due area within the last year. One person died in that fire on October 16, 2010.
The fire was not placed under control until 2:33 After firefighters got into the houses to search the debris and found the victims Anne Arundel County Fire Department was called in with a cadaver dog to search for a possible fourth person. That search turned up negative.

25 people were displaced by the fire. Six of the eleven houses were condemned. The Red Cross was called to help out those people relocate.
Two firefighters were injured during the fire, one received a laceration to the hand.
Investigators were combing the debris for several days to determine the cause of this fatal fire.
