This morning units from the Baltimore City Fire Department responded to the 6000 block of Walther Ave for the report of a house fire. When units arrived they found a two story semi-detached single family home with heavy fire showing from the first floor. The fire quickly spread throughout the home damaging the entire structure and the contents inside. Units were able to contain the fire to the home where the fire originated. There were no citizen or firefighter injuries. There is one family displaced as a result of the fire. Neighborhood services was requested to the scene to assist with shelter. There is an estimated damage assessment of $75,000. The cause of the fire is smoking materials.
