Just before 2:00PM on July 4, 2021 northern Baltimore County companies were alerted for a house fire located at 12249 Manor Road in Glen Arm. Fire Box 38-6 was dispatched at 1354 hours. Initial reports stated that dogs were possibly trapped inside and that smoke was visible. With that information responding units requested a Tanker Strike Team response due to the limited water supply in the area. Minutes later a working fire assignment was struck out bringing additional units from Baltimore as well as Harford County.
Engine 10 from Parkville was the first arriving unit and reported fire and smoke showing from the first floor of a 2-story frame house. They dropped a line and drove up the long driveway to the house. Other arriving units had to hand drag ladders, hoses and equipment up the driveway to the house. The occupants had arrived on the scene and were able to get all of the pets out of the house. Tankers arrived and set up a relay and water supply from the main road. Fire made its way up to the second floor and into the roof. Firefighters were able to make a good stop on the fire preventing it from jumping into the main house that was connected by a breezeway.
It took about an hour to bring the fire under control. No injuries were reported and all of the animals were brought out safely.
