Around 0800 hours on December 12, 2019 witnesses reported a man had jumped into the harbor at Baltimore’s Harbor Place near the Constellation on Light Street. At 0812 a harbor rescue assignment was dispatched to the Light Street Pavilion and began dive operations.
Baltimore City Fire Department along with Baltimore Police divers entered the water and searched the area for about 4 ½ hours and were unable to locate anyone. At that time the Fire Department curtailed their operations and left the scene in charge of the Police Department. Shortly afterwards Police divers retrieved a body located under the ship “Constellation” which was docked at the pier nearby. The body was then transported to the Medical Examiners Office.
