Around 11:30AM on June 20, 2021 a chain reaction accident involving five vehicles occurred at Rt. 40 and Saint Agnes Lane in Catonsville. Utility 369 from the Lansdowne Volunteer Fire Department was one of the vehicles involved.
Baltimore County Police said the driver of a 2020 Nissan Altima was driving east on Rt.40 and swerved to avoid colliding with Utility 369 that was turning right onto Rt.40. Then the Nissan struck a 2009 Accura pushing it into a 2008 Toyota Prius. The driver of the Toyota also swerved to avoid a collision and was struck by a 2018 Chevy Equinox causing Utility 369 to spin and hit the Nissan. The Nissan then slammed into a utility pole.
A rescue assignment was dispatched along with five Medic Units to the scene. No one was trapped in any of the vehicles but seven people were transported to area hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to serious but none were life-threatening.
Baltimore County Police remained on the scene for investigation and clean up.
