On April 23, 2008 around 5:30 AM a fire box was sounded for a house fire reported in the area of Marriottsville and Old Frederick Roads in Ellicott City. First arriving units found a vacant 2-story house with heavy smoke coming from it. Within a few minutes fire broke through the roof. Long hose lays were required due to the distance off of the main road and a long narrow driveway to the house Ellicott City's Tower 2 was set up to lead the exterior operations. A working fire and Task Force were sounded bringing additional equipment to the scene. Firefighters brought this fire under control in about an hour and a half.
