On April 11, 2011 firefighters made quick work of a fire in a motel room in Woodlawn. At around 4:30 PM a fire was reported at the Motel 6 located at 1654 Whitehead Court. First arriving firefighters from Westview Station 13 found heavy fire and smoke from one room at the motel. It was quickly upgraded to a working fire and firefighters proceeded to knock down the fire and search several rooms for any possible trapped victims. No one was found and the fire was placed under control in about 30 minutes. Fire Investigation was called to determine the cause.
