On Wednesday, June 18, 2025 around 1135 hours Ocean City 911 Center started receiving calls for an injured child that dove into the water at the beach and struck her head on the ocean floor. Medics were dispatched to the scene and arrived at 27th Street and the beach and began patient care. Maryland State Police Trooper 4 was then requested. Ocean City Tower 1 and Battalion Chief 7, along with Ocean City Police Department responded to the Jolly Rogers Amusement Park to secure a landing zone for the Trooper. Ocean City medics treated and then transported the patient to the landing zone. Maryland State Police Trooper 4 responded and flew the patient to Hopkins Pediatrics in Baltimore for additional treatment.
