Shortly after 1:00 pm on Monday, September 26, 2016, firefighters and paramedics from the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services (HCDFRS) were dispatched for a report of a townhouse fire in the 5900 block of Rowanberry Drive in Elkridge. Units arrived to find smoke showing from the second story of the home. Crews quickly went into offensive mode and knocked the fire.
One dog was rescued from the building. The home was otherwise unoccupied at the time of dispatch. The fire was placed under control quickly. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported. Units from Anne Arundel County Fire Department were also on scene to assist.
The townhouse has been deemed uninhabitable at this time. Damage estimates are roughly $100,000. The fire remains under investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal.
