At the conclusion of the Memorial Service thousands of firefighters lined up along the streets leading out of the Convention Center to make the way for the procession to proceed up to Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. Two ladder trucks sporting a large American flag created an arch across the street for the procession to pass under. Leading the procession were three pumpers that bore the flag draped caskets of the fallen firefighters and followed by every piece of first line apparatus in the BCFD.
Along the route to the cemetery were hundreds of people paying their last respects to the heroes. There were Public Works crews with their vehicles, police units and Fire Companies along the shoulders and on top of overpasses saluting the firefighters.
At the entrance of the cemetery were two more ladder trucks with a flag greeting the hundreds of people and emergency vehicles entering to pay their last respects. Upon entering family and friends gathered around the “Fallen Heroes Memorial” for the funeral. Butrim Sadler, and Lacayo are the 75th, 76th, and 77th Maryland first responders that were added to the memorial.
