Around 0800 hours on December 2, 2022 Box Alarm 14-50 was sent out for a reported dwelling fire in the 300 block South Bruce Street in the Union Square neighborhood of southwest Baltimore. Bruce Street is a very narrow alley street and the whole block consists of 2-story vacant row houses.
Companies arrived and had heavy fire on both floors of a vacant boarded up dwelling. Battalion Chief 3 arrived and established Command and made it a working fire. Firefighters remained outside with handlines and checked the adjacent exposures for extension. The fire was contained to the original structure and brought under control in an hour.
No injuries were reported.
