On June 9, 2011 around 1:30 PM a fire was reported in a three-story store front and apartment building at 2100 West North Avenue. First arriving units found heavy fire in the second floor rear and requested a working fire assignment.
After the initial fire was knocked down heavy smoke was still throughout the building and one person had to be rescued from a second floor room from a ground ladder. A woman was brought down without incident and no injuries were reported.
The fire was under control within 30 minutes and Fire Investigation was requested to the scene.
