The Baltimore City Fire Department placed 25 new Paramedic Recruits in the field with the graduation of Paramedic Recruit Class 14-01 on November 7, 2014. The graduation ceremony took place at the Fire Academy and was attended by Chief of Fire Department Niles Ford, Chief Officers and Staff, as well as a host of family and friends of the trainees.
Under the direction of Deputy Chief, Director of Training Alex J. Perricone the recruits completed 12 weeks of training that included new employee orientation, EVOC, Defensive Driving Course, Firefighter I as well as their ALS courses. They are scheduled to return to the academy later on to complete their Firefighter II course.
A new Firefighter/EMT class started shortly after their graduation and they are expected to graduate at the end of March, 2015.
