By Fire Chief Ira Walker, Jr. July 30, 2011 On Saturday, July 30th at 1:37AM crews were alerted for a "fully" involved barn fire on Wolfe Rd in Hopewell Township. Chief 54-1(Russell) responded and was advised by York County 911 that PSP was on scene confirming barn fire "fully" involved with exposures. Chief 54-1 arrived and had Command, E61(Chief Myers) laid 1,500 feet of 5" LDH from a hydrant on Wolfe Rd while E54-3 (Chief Walker) laid 1,500 feet of 4" LDH from a pond on Seiling Farm Rd. Crews from E61 and TK58 attacked the fire on Side C/D while crews from E54-3 and E45 attacked the fire on Side B/C. Crews did an outstanding job of extinguishing the fire w/no injuries reported. Command 54 requested PSP Fire Marshal Division to the scene to investigate. The barn and it's contents were a total loss of approximately $130,000. Hopewell Township responded with a rubber tire front end loader to assist in overhaul. The box was placed in service around 7AM.
