At around 4:00 AM on June 27th fire box 14-9 was dispatched for a fire reported in the 1200 block of West Baltimore Street. When companies arrived they found heavy smoke throughout the neighborhood and fire coming through the roof of two vacant buildings partially under demolition. A working fire was declared and followed quickly by a second alarm.
Crews contained the fire and brought it under control within an hour.
There was slight damage to an occupied carry-out food store adjacent to the fire building.
Two people were slightly injured, including one firefighter who suffered a minor ankle injury.
Fire Investigators were also on the scene to determine a cause.
