On Friday, March 1st units were dispatched to Fire Box 14-50 for a dwelling in the 2000 block of Wilkens Avenue in southwest Baltimore. Engine 14 was first to arrive at the 2-story brick dwelling that was empty and under renovation. Fire and heavy smoke was showing from the three windows on the second floor front. When crews made their way inside the fire was contained to the front room and quickly knocked down within minutes. Crews checked both side exposures for any extension. Fire was up in the cornice of the roof and that was quickly chased down and extinguished. FIB was on the scene to investigate the cause. No injuries were reported.
