Around noon on Friday, September 27th a tactical box was dispatched for a report of a fire in the 1300 block of N. Fremont Avenue in the Upton section of west Baltimore. Companies arrived within minutes and found a 3-story middle of the group vacant dwelling with heavy showing from all three floors. They requested the rest of the box and immediately started an exterior attack due to the heavy fire conditions. Battalion Chief 3 arrived and made it a working fire followed by a second alarm.
The fire was brought under control within an hour. Most of the interior and roof collapsed and Water Tower 1 was special called to access the roof and cornice of the building. There were no injuries and damage to each exposure was minimal.
