Prior to the company meeting on Tuesday, December 19th, the Reese and Community Volunteer Fire Company officially dedicated and placed in service Engine 92 during the Engine 92 Celebration and Dedication Ceremony. Engine 92 is 1992 Seagrave Attacker with a 1750 GPM pump, 600 gallon water tank, and a 75’ rear mounted “Mean Stick”. It was purchased from the Silverbell Army Heliport in Marana, Arizona where it ran as Ladder 365. Engine 92 replaced a 2000 Ferrara Inferno which was donated to the Fulton County Fire and Rescue in Fulton, Kentucky in December of 2021after they lost their firehouse, and all of their equipment including four engines in a devastating tornado that ripped through southwestern Kentucky on December 10th.
Engine 92 was dedicated in honor of Marion A. Davidson, Jr. aka “JR”-a 53 year life member, who served as Chief, Assistant Chief, President, and long-time board member of the Company.
Remarks were made by President Kenneth Hyde, Carroll County Department of Fire and EMS of Maryland Chief Michael Robinson, Chief Andrew Wooden, and Lions Club District Governor Jeremy Bair. The evenings Benediction Prayer was given by Chaplain Sam Mann.
After a light meal and refreshments everyone proceeded to the outside parking lot where Engine 92 was waiting under the lights. Former Chief Marion Davidson broke the customary champagne bottle over the front bumper thereby christening the new engine in his honor.
